Highly qualified and dedicated teachers at SVSU make serious efforts to bridge the gap between theoretical and practical learning, work tirelessly to create the right skill sets that today’s employers look for, thus making students industry-ready. With more than 1,30,000 alumni, the University has an excellent placement record with an increasing number of students getting placed every year.

SVSU has some distinctive features which are well worth mentioning. It follows environmentally sound practices, e.g. Use of Solar Panels & Rainwater Harvesting System, Organic Farming, Car Free Days, etc. It offers and successfully runs special courses in Creative Arts, Sculpture Making, Painting, Performing Arts, and Indian Classical Music & Dance. It is known as a great centre of Buddhist Studies. The University honors the unsung heroes of Indian Freedom Struggle and martyrs of the nation in its own unique way – Shaheed Smaraka; a museum devoted to the life & struggle of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose; Kargil Sheed Upvan where each tree has been planted in memory of every soldier who laid down his life during the 1999 Kargil War; every road & every building within the campus has been named in honor of an Indian nationalist or an Indian revolutionary. Perhaps no other private university in India has such unique features.
